Soulstrut from the man that once was the King of New York!Mr Joe Bataan returns from obscurity helped by the Barcelona based combo of soul hipsters Los Fulanos.
With an atmosphere that is remarkably reminiscent to his sixties vibes and a dash of 7t’s funk, Mr Joe Bataan collects 12 tracks on this funky album that are more then just meagre copies of his earlier work!

Some of the original  Bataan classics like “Rap O Clap” are revamped on this album as well as some more obscure work  from the man!  Full of hard-core Latin soul sounds “The King of Latin Soul” is a dance floor filler. Older folks who might remember the man will immediately be hooked on by these classics while this alum will introduce Joe Bataan to a complete new generation as well! Funky Stuff like the “Bottle” and “Gipsy Woman” will without delay ring a bell! Jazzy lounge sounds can be found on  “Special Girl” while “Wish you love” is a truly soul standard! True Salsoul is to be heard on “Puerto Rico Me Llama” an excellent cut to practice your dancing steps!

Including two bonus tracks recorder live at The Apolo Club in Barcelona, “The King Of New York” might technically not be a complete new album but it certainly puts Joe Bataan back on the map of Latin soul and funky struts!  A Party classic for sure.
